Piotr Bąkowski Signed 2007 Original “Los Pistols” Contemporary Urban Painting

Piotr Bąkowski (b.1974) Signed 2007 Original “Los Pistols” Contemporary Urban Painting

An original and highly distinctive contemporary painting by acclaimed Polish artist Piotr Bąkowski (born 1974), signed, dated 2007, and titled “Los Pistols” on the reverse.

This powerful mixed-media style composition exemplifies Bąkowski’s celebrated urban aesthetic, combining stencil-inspired imagery, expressive abstraction and street art influences. Bold areas of black, white, yellow and orange are layered with symbolic figures and graphic elements, creating a visually striking work that invites interpretation and reflects the energy and complexity of contemporary city life.

Often described as an “urban painter,” Bąkowski draws inspiration from the modern metropolis, embracing techniques associated with graffiti, murals, stencils and street posters. Rather than producing detached academic works, he creates emotionally charged paintings that capture movement, intensity and the sensory overload of urban environments.

Piotr Bąkowski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk between 1995 and 2001, graduating with distinction under Professor Hugon Lasecki. His work has been exhibited extensively in Poland and internationally, including exhibitions in New York, Amsterdam, and London, and is represented in both private and corporate collections.
