The Princess Mary Christmas tin, a brass gift box distributed during World War I, was a Christmas gift from the nation to all British servicemen and women serving overseas on Christmas Day 1914. Princess Mary, the daughter of King George V, conceived the idea of providing these gifts and launched a public fund to make it possible
