An Irish visual artist who took influence from the artistry of John Cyril Harrison, among other bird artists, and worked mainly in watercolours.
As an ornithologist, he was president of the Northern Ireland Ornithology Society and a member of the Northern Ireland Birds Record Committee.
The artwork beautifully captures a moorland landscape — a wild and atmospheric scene with red grouse in flight over a heather-clad valley. Below, a stone bridge spans a gently flowing river, leading the eye towards distant misty mountains beneath a dramatic, cloud-filled sky.
