Antique Paul Bunge Hamburg 23 Analytical Balance Scales In Mahogany Case
This Paul Bunge analytical balance manufactured in Hamburg Germany would make an excellent addition to any antique scientific instrument collection.
In 1886 Paul Bunge established a workshop in Hamburg w he became known as the constructional genius of the precision balance and became renowned in particular because of his invention of the short-beam analytical balance.
Every year the German Chemical Society awards the Paul Bunge Prize for outstanding research in all fields of the history of scientific instruments and they state, "The prize is named after the most important designer of analytical, assay and high-performance precision balances in the second half of the 19th century, Paul Bunge."
This analytical balance would best be used to display the design and technology of the time.
I am sure the scales are complete but as I have no knowledge of these scales and how they work they are sold, as is.
