This striking black-and-white photograph captures artist Marc Chagall at work on a painting in August 1934, during the early and highly influential period of his Paris career. The print is period-correct and not a later reproduction, confirmed by multiple studio stamps on the reverse and handwritten archival notes.

Original Lipnitzki prints of Chagall rarely appear on the open market.
