The title page is beautifully presented with an ornate black decorative border incorporating ecclesiastical and symbolic motifs, typical of Methuen’s high-quality religious publications of the period. A Latin quotation appears to the facing page, adding to the scholarly and devotional character of the volume.
In good antique condition overall. Binding remains sound, pages are clean and legible with age-related toning. Some expected light wear consistent with age, but no loose pages. A well-preserved example of a classic theological and philosophical work.
