The album is bound in dark leather with ornate gilt and blind-tooled decoration to the cover, featuring an elegant geometric and floral design. The edges are finished with painted gilt detailing, and the album closes securely with its original brass clasp.


Inside, the album contains original decorative interior leaves with apertures of various sizes and shapes, designed to hold portrait photographs. Each aperture is surrounded by printed floral borders, with lace-style motifs and cushion-effect detailing, typical of high-quality Victorian albums. These pages create a wonderfully romantic and nostalgic presentation for period photography. There are still 3 photographs remaining in the album.


Housed within is a boxed, key-wound musical movement, complete with its original key. The music box is integrated into the album, adding a delightful extra layer of interest and collectability. Condition:

In good antique condition overall, with age-related wear consistent with a Victorian album. This includes surface wear to the leather, rubbing to edges and corners, and some spotting, toning and wear to the interior pages. The clasp remains intact.
