Unusual antique oak folding firescreen that cleverly converts into a small occasional or side table. The centre features a beautifully worked tapestry panel depicting a historic sailing ship at sea, flying red cross flags, with excellent period colour and detail.
The oak frame is aged has a lot of wear and stands on shaped legs with a decorative stretcher. The top tilts and folds securely into position, allowing the piece to be used either upright as a firescreen or horizontally as a small table or display stand. Retains original metal corner protectors (which are loose and needs attention) adding both character and functionality.
