A charming and substantial late Victorian to Edwardian photograph album, beautifully bound in dark leather with gilt decorative tooling to the spine. The album retains its original ornate floral chromolithographed pages, a particularly attractive feature that makes it highly decorative even when closed or displayed open.
The album contains approx 49 original photographs, dating to the Victorian and Edwardian period, showing a variety of formal studio portraits and candid images. Subjects include men, women and children, dressed in period attire typical of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of the boards are framed by vibrant floral decoration, typical of quality albums of this era.
Photographs are generally well-preserved for their age, there maybe a couple that have marks but generally all look great.
