An interesting antique metal magic lantern / optical projector, dating to the late 19th century, traditionally used for projecting glass slides for home, educational or entertainment use.
The lantern has a black painted metal body with a conical projection lens, brass detailing, carry handle, and a hinged rear access door. Inside is an original burner assembly, consistent with oil or early gas illumination (not tested). Ventilation chimney to the top and adjustable components typical of early projection equipment.
A wonderful decorative, collector’s or display piece, ideal for photographers, film history collectors, steampunk décor, or as a prop.
Condition:
Vintage condition with surface wear, paint losses, marks and patina consistent with age and use. Interior burner present. Lens present. Untested and sold as a collectible/display item only. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
