Attractive vintage decorative reproduction of the celebrated early 17th-century county map of Bedfordshire originally engraved by John Speed.
This later printing faithfully recreates Speed’s iconic design, showing Bedfordshire with surrounding counties, finely detailed towns and villages, highlighted county borders, ornate cartouches, heraldic shields, compass rose, scale of miles, and an inset town plan. The classical figures and armorial bearings give it real period character.
Presented in a traditional glazed frame, making it ready to hang and ideal for a study, hallway, library or country-style interior. A charming piece of English cartographic history and a great decorative wall feature.
