Antique Regency / William IV Rosewood Work Table – Fitted Drawer, Silk Basket & Drop Sides on Castors
A handsome early-19th-century Regency / William IV rosewood work table, dating to circa 1825–1835, beautifully proportioned and rich in colour with striking rosewood figuring throughout.
The rectangular top features drop sides, allowing the table to be used compact or extended when required. Beneath is a fitted drawer with internal compartments, ideal for sewing implements, letters or small collectibles. Below this sits the original silk-lined swing basket, traditionally used for needlework or wool.
The table stands on an elegant tripod base with turned central column, terminating in original metal castors, making it easy to move despite its solid construction.
A wonderfully practical yet decorative piece — perfect as a lamp table, bedside table, occasional table or sewing/work table.
Measures approx 71cm high x 46 cm deep
Opens up to 65.5cm wide and with the sides drop down it measures approx 37.5cm wide
