A beautifully detailed vintage Indonesian wooden rod puppet, hand-carved and hand-painted in the traditional Wayang Golek style.
This elegant figure features a finely painted face with expressive eyes, an ornate headdress, carved wooden arms with control rods, and is dressed in original patterned textile robes with decorative embellishments and earrings. The craftsmanship is excellent, with lovely character and patina developed over time.
These puppets were traditionally used in storytelling and ceremonial performances and now make striking decorative or collector’s pieces.
Good vintage condition overall. Expected age-related wear including light surface marks, rubbing to paint, and creasing to fabric. All adds to authenticity and charm. Please see photos for full condition.
