A beautifully hand-painted Japanese Arita porcelain charger decorated in traditional Sometsuke (underglaze blue) style.
This elegant large plate features a tranquil landscape scene with a crested bird perched beneath blossoming branches, overlooking flowing water with a swimming waterfowl below. The composition is finely executed in varying tones of cobalt blue, creating depth and movement against the soft ivory ground. The rim is finished with a classic deep blue edge.
Arita ware, produced in the town of Arita in Japan’s Saga Prefecture, is celebrated worldwide for its high-quality porcelain and refined blue and white decoration. The delicate brushwork and balanced design reflect this long-standing tradition.
