A charming vintage ceramic tableware set designed by the celebrated British ceramic artist Clarice Cliff, one of the most influential figures in Art Deco pottery design. Cliff worked in the Staffordshire Potteries and became famous in the 1930s for her colourful, hand-decorated tableware and distinctive modern patterns. 
This attractive set is decorated in the “Summer’s End” pattern, featuring a stylised tree with green leaves and small orange berries or flowers sweeping across the surface. The design sits on a soft cream ground with a pale green banded border, giving the pieces a fresh and decorative countryside feel typical of late 1930s tableware.
The lot comprises:
• 1 plate (22cm diameter)
• 2 matching side plates (19cm diameter)
• 1 small honey or preserve pot with lid (8.5cm high)
The pattern is simple yet elegant, with a hand-painted look typical of Clarice Cliff designs produced by the A.J. Wilkinson / Newport Pottery factories in Staffordshire during the Art Deco era. Similar “Summer’s End” pieces are known from around the late 1930s and often appear on tableware shapes such as plates and bowls.
