This pair of large cabinet / charger plates are beautifully decorated with two sinuous dragons set amidst stylised flames, symbolising power, strength, and good fortune in Chinese culture. The central red pearl represents wisdom and prosperity, a key element in traditional Chinese art.
The borders are intricately detailed with geometric and floral panels, all executed in a bold palette of iron red, green, blue, and yellow enamels on a white ground.
