A charming and authentic antique German doll by the highly collectible Armand Marseille, featuring the desirable mould number 985.
This lovely example has a finely modelled bisque head with beautifully painted features, including bright blue glass sleep eyes, delicately blushed cheeks, and an open mouth with visible teeth, giving her a wonderfully lifelike expression.
She is marked clearly to the reverse of the head:
“Armand Marseille Germany 985 M” – confirming manufacture circa early 20th century (c.1900–1915).
The doll is presented on a composition body not original, later added and comes dressed in a charming white cotton dress with lace detailing, along with stockings. A separate wig is included (currently detached as shown). See all photos as they form part of the description
