A handsome and increasingly collectible Broadhurst Clarkson & Co. “Britannic” brass and leather field telescope, complete with its original leather carrying strap and protective leather end caps.
Finished in stitched brown leather over a brass body, this quality English-made telescope extends smoothly and displays beautifully as both a functional optical instrument and decorative maritime/scientific collectible. The Britannic range was produced by the renowned London optical makers Broadhurst Clarkson & Co., one of Britain’s oldest telescope manufacturers, with roots dating back to the 18th century.
The Britannic models were marketed as quality field and marine telescopes and are sought after by collectors of nautical, military and scientific instruments.
