Vintage Grundig GCM3 Condenser Microphone Bakelite EV AT Germany 1950s Untested
An attractive and increasingly collectable vintage Grundig GCM3 condenser microphone, dating from the early post-war era and displaying wonderful classic German industrial design.
The microphone features a large circular head with a woven gold-tone metal grille, mounted on its original sculptural dark brown Bakelite-style desk stand. The front carries the original GRUNDIG badge with the distinctive clover emblem and decorative gold-tone vertical detailing.
The rear of the microphone has the characteristic concentric moulded design, while the original-style brown fabric-covered cable remains attached.
A particularly decorative piece of early audio equipment that would look superb displayed alongside vintage radios, recording equipment or in a mid-century interior.
Condition: Good vintage cosmetic condition overall with age-related wear, surface marks and tarnishing to the gold-tone grille surround, as clearly shown in the photographs. The cable is cut/frayed at the end and there is no plug/connector fitted. Consequently the microphone has not been tested and is sold as untested, with no guarantee of electrical operation.
A lovely original-looking survivor and an appealing piece for a Grundig, vintage microphone, broadcasting or audio equipment collector.
