Vintage Original Oil Painting on Board Harbour Fishing Boats, Looks to be Signed R Signed Ryan but can’t be certain
An attractive vintage original oil painting on board, depicting a wonderfully atmospheric harbour scene with traditional fishing boats moored beside old quayside buildings.
The artist has used bold, textured brushwork and areas of impasto, particularly across the boats, buildings and water. The reflections of the vessels and harbour structures are particularly effective, while the circling seabirds and small rowing boats add life to the composition.
The painting is signed “Ryan” lower right. I have not been able to establish the artist with certainty and therefore offer the work as signed Ryan, without attribution.
Presented in a substantial gilt/gold-toned wooden frame, which complements the maritime subject beautifully.
Details: Original oil on board; harbour/fishing-boat subject; signed Ryan lower right; textured impasto technique; vintage gilt frame; likely mid-to-late 20th century.
The painting has a lovely traditional coastal character and would display particularly well in a country home, coastal interior, study or alongside a collection of maritime art.
Condition: Good vintage condition overall, with some age-related wear to the frame as expected. Please see photographs for the best indication of condition.
Frame measures approx 69cm x 58cm
