The painting is filled with intricate detail, from the magnificent palace architecture and ornamental columns to the beautifully patterned carpets, traditional costumes and lush gardens.
Executed in attractive shades of blue, green, terracotta, gold and cream, the composition is surrounded by a striking dark floral border.
The artwork hand-painted directly onto fabric, with the original unfinished fabric margins remaining visible.
A charming example of vintage Indian decorative art, inspired by the celebrated Mughal painting tradition.
