A Lovely Art Deco Bronze Figurine in the Manner of Josef Lorenzl – Signed “Lorenzl”
A beautifully modelled Art Deco bronze figurine, depicting an elegant elongated female dancer captured mid-movement, arms gracefully extended and drapery flowing behind her. The figure shows all the hallmarks associated with the Art Deco period, with its sleek lines, stylised form and sense of rhythm and motion.
The bronze has a rich, warm patina and is signed “Lorenzl”, reflecting the distinctive style made famous by Josef Lorenzl. She stands on an oval bronze plinth mounted to a dark grey veined marble base, adding weight, presence and contrast to the piece.
The detailing is excellent throughout, from the finely worked facial features and coiffed hair to the geometric treatment of the dress and limbs. A striking and decorative sculpture that displays beautifully from all angles.
